Our Firm History

     Wayne M. LaBiche Engineering, LLC  consists of  professional engineers, engineers-in training (EIT), designers, and inspectors offering a full range of civil and structural engineering services as well as subdivision planning and construction management.  The firm was formed in 1985 by Wayne LaBiche, a native of New Iberia, and a licensed Civil Engineer since 1970 (Louisiana License #15804), whose professional experience began in New Orleans and includes engineering design and construction of commercial, industrial and municipal projects throughout South Louisiana.   Consulting services are usually divided into three phases:  (1) Preliminary evaluations, investigations, reports and conceptual designs;  (2) final reports, detailed designs and construction plans and specifications; and  (3) construction administration.  Services can be rendered with respect to any of the phases.   Acadiana Surveying, LLC provides an array of surveying services including boundary, mortgage, topographic, constuction layout and Flood Elevation Certificates.
 
     Wayne M. LaBiche Engineering, LLC (WMLE) conducts its professional practice in accordance with the Canons of Ethics for Engineers promulgated by the National Society of Professional Engineers, and endorses the Guide for the Engagement of Engineering Services developed by the American Council of Engineering Companies and the National Society of Civil Engineers.
 
     A substantial portion of the firm’s experience has been in the civil field as it relates to preliminary design, construction plans and specifications and construction administration services.  The repeated use of WMLE by many major companies is evidence of the firm’s ability to accomplish the variety of tasks involved.  
 
     WMLE has an extensive array of up to date in-house computer software, networked  throughout the office, used for most civil, structural and foundation engineering designs as well as for surveys.  Additionally, the firm’s engineers and technical staff are well-educated and trained and by use of the latest computer aided engineering solution software for both design and drafting, LaBiche Engineering provides a professional and functional end product.    A sophisticated business management software designed specifically for architects and engineers (DELTEK Advantage) is used for project scheduling, time analysis, project management and accounting.  Wayne M. LaBiche is licensed to practice civil engineering in Louisiana and maintains membership in the American Society of Civil Engineers, the National Society of Professional Engineers, the Louisiana Engineering Society, and the Society of Tulane Engineers.

A division of Wayne M. LaBiche Engineering, LLC is the commercial construction contracting component operating under the name of Herpeche Construction Company, LLC (Louisiana License #559).
